What is Marketing?
Or is it called as Digital Marketing now-a-days. I hope all of you must be familiar with this term.
We are in the era of Digital age, where everything that we do right from when we wake-up and until we go to bed comprises of information which is almost digital. We are consuming content like never before through the internet, but we don’t remember a thing.
Even if we want to learn anything today, we can do it just by click of a button. That’s how easy it has become. And in this Digital Age, all most every business is taking advantage using various digital marketing techniques, tools, etc.
The new age marketers or new learners who are joining the industry pick a course by influencers, and are following them blindly without understanding core concepts of marketing, advertising or branding. Most of them who I have noticed are even selling other people’s course and are claiming themselves to be an affiliate marketer.
But that is not part of what Digital Marketing is all about. Every one wants to be Digital Marketer or a Marketer. But not many really want to understand the core concepts of marketing.
In this audio-podcast I am going to share important concepts of marketing and how you should approach the subject before you start offering any marketing services to others and make money.
So what is the Definition of Marketing :-
Marketing, is the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.
Marketing identifies unfulfilled needs and desires. It defines, measures and quantifies the size of the identified market and the profit potential
It is the process of potential customers and clients interested in your products or services. The key word in definition of marketing is “process”.
Marketing involves researching, promoting, selling, and distributing your products or services at a certain profit.
Philip Kotler the marketing guru, defines marketing as “the science and art of exploring, creating, and delivering value to satisfy the needs of a target market at a profit.
Let’s understand the definition in 4 simple steps :-
1. Art Of Exploring :-
We as humans are curious creatures. The idea is to explore about the product/ service identify the need and then offer it to the right people who are looking for it.
2. Science Of Creating a product/ service :-
The best example is to watch manufacturing videos. You get to learn a lot from them. It’s very disciplined. A complex process done to simplify things and produce great and consistent results over and over again.
3. Delivering value :-
What does it mean to provide value?
Value is helping people do things better and faster. Value is educating people.
Value is the concept of making people feel good about themselves and their interactions with you.
To deliver value means to empower people to make good decisions and take the right action.
To deliver value means to improve lives of others by solving problems better than anyone.
4. Profit :-
What is profit. That what is left over once all of the expenses incurred in running the business have been paid is called Profit.
